Magnolia Electric Company

Fronted by Jason Molina, and formerly known as Songs: Ohia, Magnolia Electric Co. shares/has shared members with
The Coke Dares, Turn Pale, Panoply Academy and Thousand Arrows.

In the summer of 2004 Jason came in with a few members of Magnolia and some other friends and recorded three songs. One of these songs, featuring the late great Evan Farrell, was released by Secretly Canadian Records on the 2009 Record Store Day exclusive 7", "It's Made Me Cry". The other three songs featured on that same 7" were recorded at the new studio in the winter of 2009.

In the spring of 2009 we mixed and mastered a Magnolia Electric Co. documentary of the "Josephine" recording session at Electrical Audio (directed by Ben Schreiner). The documentary was featured on Pitchfork and will hopefully see a hard copy release in the near future.
